Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
Thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife.
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes.
Pour half of the cream mixture over the cheese layer.
Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For an extra crispy top, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking. This dish pairs perfectly with steak or roasted chicken!
