Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 200 g pasta e.g., spaghetti or penne
  • 150 g peas fresh or frozen
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 50 g Parmesan grated
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
  • Add the peas to the boiling pasta water during the last minute of cooking. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
  • In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté the chopped garlic until fragrant.
  • Add the drained pasta and peas to the pan. Season with lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. If needed, add a little reserved pasta water.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a creamier version, add a splash of heavy cream or ricotta. Tastes great with crispy bread on the side!
